Where is the best place to live in retirement: Panama recognized as the leader of 2025

The International Living portal has published a ranking of the countries most attractive for retirement in 2025. The first place was taken by Panama, thanks to the beneficial Pensionado program, which allows foreigners to obtain a permanent residence permit with a pension of 1,000 US dollars per month (or from 1,250 dollars for a married couple).

The Pensionado program also provides access to numerous benefits.:

• discounts of up to 50% on entertainment and travel,
• 25% on utilities and air tickets,
• 15-20% on medical services and medicines.

The second place in the rating was Portugal, famous for its high standard of living and excellent healthcare system.

The third place was taken by Costa Rica, known for its environmental protection policy and philosophy Pura Vida, which translates to "clean living" or "living in harmony".
