The Greek Ministry of the Interior reported that only about half of the participants successfully completed the April round of citizenship exams.
Of the 4,222 candidates who took the exam for the Certificate of Sufficient Knowledge for Naturalization on April 6, only 2,136 people passed it successfully, which is 50.74% of the total number. Additionally, 12 candidates were disqualified for attempted fraud.
This standardized test is a mandatory step for foreigners applying for Greek citizenship and evaluates their knowledge of the Greek language, history, culture and civic life.
The Ministry congratulated those who successfully passed the exam, stressing that this is an important first step towards obtaining citizenship, and urged them to contact local citizenship authorities to continue the naturalization process. According to the ekathimerini newspaper.
