New notification rules for obtaining a second citizenship or residence permit abroad for Russians

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs is considering a new version of the law on the procedure for filing notifications upon obtaining a residence permit or citizenship in another state, or upon their loss. The draft includes amendments that tighten existing regulations: https://regulation.gov.ru/Regulation/Npa/PublicView?npaID=139978. The new order is currently undergoing public consultation on the federal portal. It is scheduled to come into force at the end of October 2023.
